Nikon 1 V1 sample images

Some sample images taken with the Nikon 1 V1 model

The Nikon 1 V1 has its flaws -- the menu system and buttons are unintuitive, the sensor is very small and it seems to have a problem with stabilisation -- but it sure can capture vibrant colours and clear details when it wants to. We took it for a walk from Sydney Harbour to Darling Harbour on a bright and sunny Sydney day to see just how well it performs.

For all shots we used Program mode and the 10-30mm kit lens. We also framed nearly all the shots using the built-in electronic viewfinder and none of the shots have been cropped; vertical shots have been put on a bigger background in order to fit our slideshow format.

The Nikon 1 V1 comes in a twin lens kit (10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 and 30-110mm f/3.8-5.6) that costs $1399.
