Western Digital My Book Essential 2TB external hard drive

Price: $239 (Save $210)

Western Digital's redesigned My Book Essential external hard drive range is as plain and simple to use as the original, but who needs fancy extras on a storage device? Like the My Book Elite, Western Digital's entry-level external hard drive offers a USB 2.0 port, 2TB of storage and WD SmartWare backup software, which is easy to use, even if you aren't great with computers. Better yet, Dick Smith currently has the hard drive on special for $239. That's $60 off the current price, but a whopping $210 off its original price tag when it was first released in September last year. Be quick though; the offer ends 2 March.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
