Though students tend to print frequently, they don't necessarily need their own printer; there are plenty of printers that will be good for the rest of the family as well as students. Canon's PIXMA MX860 has plenty of connections and an automatic duplexer, and its scanner is good enough for digitising documents using OCR (optical character recognition) software. Harvey Norman is currently clearing out some old Canon models, and the PIXMA MX860 is one of those on the chopping block for $52 off the original $299 RRP.
