Panasonic's Lumix DMC-GF1 is a digital camera that's very similar to an SLR. It has plenty of manual controls and you can change lenses to suit your shooting requirements. Unlike a digital SLR, it doesn't have a mirror system or an optical viewfinder, so it's relatively small and easy to carry for long periods of time. It's the type of camera a photographer tinkers with when they don't want to lug a huge digital SLR to a social occasion. Ted's Cameras currently has the GF1 for $1499.95, which is almost $150 off the RRP.
