Sony KDL40W5500 LCD television

Price: $1498 (Save $1401 and get a free PS3 Slim)

When we tested Sony's 32in Bravia KDL32W5500 LCD television we gave it our Editor’s Choice award — even though we thought it was a little pricey at the time with its original RRP of $1899. The good news is this that you can pick up the 40in version of this Sony for a bargain price. The Good Guys has the 40in model for $1498 — that’s a $1400 saving on the $2899 RRP (but be quick, as this offer only lasts until 23 November). Plus if you buy it before 20 December you can get a free PlayStation 3 from Sony too.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
