Canon IXUS 80 IS digital camera

Price: $209 (Save: $170)

It may not have as many megapixels as the majority of this year's cameras, but the 8-megapixel Canon IXUS 80, which has been around for18 months, is still very good value for money. You can pick it up at Digital Camera Warehouse for only $209, which is $170 less than when it was initially released, and you'll get a free camera case worth $39. Rest assured, for that price you're getting a solidly built small camera with all the fancy features you'll need for everyday use, such as image stabilisation and motion detection, but above all, its image quality is a cut above other cameras at this low price point.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
