HP Pavilion dv7-2112TX notebook Price: $2299 (save $300)

In our experience HP’s Pavilion DV series notebooks are generally good performers, with comfortable key lay-outs and good technical specifications. This notebook is similar to the HP Pavilion dv7-2112TX notebook we’ve reviewed. The HP Pavilion dv7-2112TX is a 17in notebook with a powerful Core 2 Duo processor, a 1TB hard drive and 4GB of DDR2 RAM. It’s practically a replacement for your desktop PC! You can save a few dollars on the RRP by shopping at Dick Smith Electronics — it’s $2299 in store, a saving of $300 off the RRP.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
