Best tech bargains of the week: September 4 (Father's Day special edition!)

Need to pick up a last minute Father's Day gift? Or just want to splurge on yourself? Check out some of the great deals we've rounded up.

Sony PlayStation 3 Slim

RRP: $499

The Sony PlayStation 3 Slim is the latest high-definition gaming console to hit the market, offering size and power advantages over the older, fatter PS3. While the console is a hot property on its own and there aren't many discounts to be found, Dick Smith Electronics is offering the console with a free copy of the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game. That's a theoretical saving of $119.95 (the game's RRP), making this bundle a great deal for those looking to pick up the new PS3.

EBGames is also currently offering the PS3 Slim for $496 with $125 worth of vouchers if you buy it before September 17.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
