Watchmen: The End is Nigh -- latest screenshots

Alan Moore’s magnum opus gets the video game tie-in treatment — in new-fangled digital download form.

To coincide with the highly anticipated Watchmen motion picture (which opened in cinemas yesterday), Warner Bros has released a long-form downloadable videogame entitled Watchmen: The End is Nigh. This third-person action game takes place over a decade before the events chronicled in the movie. Described as a “hardcore mature action brawler featuring bloody visceral combat”, the game puts you in the shoes of Rorschach (AKA Walter Kovacks) and the Night Owl (AKA Dan Dreiberg); two of the costumed heroes from the movie and graphic novel.

Both characters feature distinct combat abilities, as well as a collection of unique finishing moves. Patrick Wilson and Jackie Earle Haley, who play Night Owl and Rorschach in the movie, have lent their voices to the game. Watchmen: The End is Nigh is available via digital download only, on Xbox Live Arcade (Xbox 360), the PlayStation Network (PS3) and Steam (PC). The game is available from today on all three platforms. For all the latest screenshots and character renders, check out our following slideshow.

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
