Inside the Power Converter
The open box above is the power converter. It works in conjunction with a bricklike external power supply to provide power to the IIc. The converter slides in and out of a socket on the motherboard with an edge connector. It was made as a separate, easily switchable unit to accommodate international variations in power sources (such as the United States' 110 volts versus Australia's 220 volts).
