With satisfaction always within reach, Battlefield 1943 makes for an addictive online experience. It's a shooter that's made for cheapskates, not by them: you're essentially getting a triple-A title at a quarter of the price. Some of you might complain that it doesn't contain enough content but actually dive into the game and your worries will quickly disappear.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (Ubisoft)

This game is definitely a nice change of pace from the standard World War II/sci-fi settings and until someone does it better, Bound in Blood is, in my opinion, the best Western-themed shooter around.

Grand Slam Tennis (EA Games)

Grand Slam's a great package, especially for those who've grown bored with Wii Sports's comparatively casual take on tennis. The Wii MotionPlus-assisted play is nearly pitch-perfect, the modes brimming with features, and the visuals — while the weakest aspect of the title — offer some cartoony charm. As a quality tennis title and an impressive showcase of Nintendo's new tech, EA's ambitious first effort easily takes the cup.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Activision)

There are plenty of great things in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to warrant purchasing it. If you like Transformers, buy this game. Even if you don't (or you just hate Michael Bay), you should still give Optimus Prime a try.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (EA Games)

This year's version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour is as sweet as a 350 yard tee shot down the middle of the fairway. It will challenge experienced players while still providing enough teaching and lessons to acclimate even the newest of players. If this game is not in the running for "Sports Game of the Year" awards, I will be really surprised.

Fight Night Round 4 (EA Games)

Fight Night Round 4 lacks some of the wow factor of its predecessor, but it builds upon the strengths of Round 3 and corrects most of its weaknesses. Three years is a long time to wait for a sports sequel, but Round 4 is an excellent and necessary upgrade for all Fight Night fans, and it reasserts the series as the (relatively) uncontested titleholder across all simulation-style boxing games.

The Conduit (Sega)

To be blunt, The Conduit is a by the numbers shooter that offers a couple of thrills but ultimately doesn't make much of an impact. If your system of choice is the Wii then I suggest you check it out, as action games are few and far between on the platform and The Conduit does have its positives; anyone who loved Goldeneye will want to give a look as well if only to get a nice dose of nostalgia. But the rest of you shouldn't feel a need to abandon your favourite next-gen shooter for this one.

Overlord II is a decent game that maintains its predecessor's greatness, but it doesn't show enough progression or improvement. The unforgiving checkpoints and host of other problems make it a frustrating experience, making for a sinfully fun title that forces you to a steep penance for your enjoyment.

Let's Tap (Sega)

I didn't quite know what to make of Let's Tap when it first showed up in the GP offices, and was even more surprised at the amount of attention it was drawing. When I finally sat in on a few rounds of Tap Runner, I'll admit — I was automatically intrigued. Interesting control mechanics meet surprisingly solid game design in this fun, if simple title.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game (Atari)

Though I was ultimately somewhat disappointed by the flawed and fundamentally repetitive nature of my time as a green recruit, Ghostbusters' tight online component renewed my long-term enthusiasm for slam-dunking slimers. Now I just need to figure out how to get Ray Parker, Jr.'s theme song out of my head.
