Purchased direct from Toshiba USA around five weeks ago. After 11 days, the R830 failed, the disc was formated and rebuild. OK for one week, then problems started again. Toshiba's support is less than hopeless. They cannot decide if it's hardware or software/hardware related, so choose to do nothing. Our first and last experience with Toshiba. Previous laptops all Fujitsu and never a problem.

This is a wonderful machine. I got mine a couple of weeks ago and have been pleased so far. The downside is the cooling fan. It's on all the time, and it's so loud. I don't have a lot of business meetings, but if I did, it would be too loud for me to have in a conference room giving a presentation. It's too bad, because it's a business machine.

This is my first Toshiba and will be my last, I'm actually really disapointed. It's slow, unresponsive at times, the graphics are quite bad for a mid-range laptop, the speakers are terrible - I have to use headphones when trying to skype because the volume is just that low.
After having had 2 Dell laptops and giving Toshiba a try, I'm afraid I'm heading back to Dell for my next buy.
