Medion's cheap 17in notebook has basic specs, but should serve as a good general-purpose computer for home or basic business use

  • Pros
    It's cheap
  • Cons
    windows 7

This machine is good value for the money, however windows 7 and all its associated over-bloated software really lets it down. I've been running Linux from a USB thumb drive (USB 2) and it starts and runs faster than windows.
It only has an I3 processor but it has some features that are above average for a system at this price - widescreen, USB3 and good battery life.
With a decent OS this is great entry level machine.
