  • Pros
    Inspiron N5110
  • Cons
    HD replacement

Stay away from this computer. If the disc drive dies the whole laptop system must be torn apart to remove the hard disc drive. This is time consuming and expensive to repair. For the cost of the repair you could be a new laptop. Why would anyone design a product like this!

    dell support for WiFi

A great laptop that developed an issue with the Wifi card less than two months in. After hours on the phone with Dell's So Called Support people, was told its a software issue. I have already restored, reinstalled, updated drivers, etc. This is BS and proves that Dell is not really interested in supporting their products, even under warranty. I have bought 4 computers for my family over the past 5 years and am about to buy another one for my business but Dell has soured me forever. Seems to me that they are following the disasterous path that Gateway took with their desktops several years ago.

  • Pros
    aesthetically sleek
  • Cons
    just about everything

I purchased Inspiron 15r less than 60 days ago. I've had nothing but problems. terrible investment. Numerous hours spent will Dell support. I would never had expected this from a NEW laptop. Dell has had a support tech come to my home TWICE. Very inconvenient. Dell has had to replace memory card (twice), heat sink (fan), battery, hard drive and the touchpad is defective. are you kidding me??? They wont send me a new computer..just keep "repairing". I've had to reinstall all my MS office, Norton, all-in-one printer, dock station, etc. pain in the rear. I'm beyond disappointed and would never recommend Dell to anyone. My friend is starting a business and looking at Dell for laptops..I told her to steer clear. keep searching. It's probably not going to be a pleasant experience. hope this helps other of you that are shopping around. Hopefully you will see this review.

  • Pros
    Price
  • Cons
    cheap disposable PC quality

Good enough for a starter notebook but the thing that really knocks it down in my book is it takes an expert to disassemble the entire thing just to replace the hard Drive should it fail. Couple that with the really bad warranty and your left with a PC that will last about at long as the warranty you get with it at most.

  • Pros
Keyboard, improvements over earlier Inspiron hardware.
  • Cons
glossy frame around screen; less reflective preferable; but, does not detrach from functionality.

Great machine with the i5 and adequate ram. Yes, get's hot but unless I buy the XPS/Alienware, I expect this. Graphics are fine, fast enough for most games and a flight simulator. Compared to my other Inspiron 15 I got 4 years ago; better keyboard and mousepad, lighter weight, and easier to handle - swap skins are nice touch for customization. For the money - good value.
