Just because it called a telstra tough doen't mean that you can throw it off yor roof and run it over and expect it to still work. Its a phone not tank.

Very tentatively signed up to a 2 year contract due to past dealings with Telstra. Thought this phone may be useful. Less than two weeks later got a light splash whilst fishing and that was the end of it. Telstra had a look at it and said "TOUGH". Useless! Still paying for it 18 months later.

  • Pros
    Fairly Rugged
  • Cons
    Reliability

I am on my second "Telstra Tough T54" after returning the first one. The salesman said that it was tough and would pick up a signal better than my currrent phone in the rural location in which I live. I returned it after it repetedly cut out during calls and failed to pick up a signal in the areas where my former phone never missed a beat. The first call I made on the replacement phone dropped out! Enough said!! I would be keen to know what my replacement/refund rights are.

well what can i say? its not larger than my mangina but its tough. great for a long hot shag with some stupid fashion model. and then you can take pictures of the devastaion afterwards. if you manipulate it the correct way it turns in to a surprisingly entertaining fingerbox. fun for all the family.

  • Pros
    can't seem to kill it
  • Cons
    it's no fashion statement

I've had one of these since they first came out and never had any trouble with it, it's copped an absolute hiding and although it now looks a bit of a wreck, it still works.
I'm a known phone killer and have been known to destroy phones in very short time. This phone has lasted much longer than any others I've had.
For ease of use the buttons could be bigger as could the screen but then the whole phone would be huge so then it would be a bugger to carry around. So it's a compromise that I deal with, it's not suited to everyone but I can't complain.

Worst phone I've ever owned, screen too small, cant see the screen outside, texting is difficult to say the least, cant alter on screen text size or colours.

    the phone is crap

if the phone heats up in your pocket it will turn off & you can't turn it back on until the battery is completely cold. It does not always read the sim card, so you have to remove & reinstall. The last time i did this the pins that read the sim took a big slice out f the sim deeming it useless...all in all it is a piece of crap, WORST Nokia I have ever had

An absolute piece of garbage (word starting with S and ending in T that has 4 letters), worst phone ever made. Would not use it to wipe my arsehole. Hopeless is the best way to describe this throughly forgetable excue for a phone.

  • Pros
    Any other phone
  • Cons
    T90

Worst phone I have ever had the displeasure of using. Would not recommend it to anyone, unless you really dislike the person. It locks up, it goes dead and to start again you have to remove the battery. A throughly shocking phone.

The t90 is a pathetic excuse for a phone. Turns off on a regular basis, however serves well as a paperweight. The sight of this phone makes me angry and want to hurt people, please... if you or someone you know has a t90, destroy it and let us never speak of this matter again, worrrd.

braun and chuck norris like physique
  • Cons
    doesn't have a thermometer

the telstra t90 is a lovely piece of equipment, gets coverage where most phones won't and can reach those hard to reach places. Quite happy with its results and it only turns off to people who treat it bad and cheat on it. overall this phone makes me moist, good day.

    Battey Life

Great phone, no issues. It has only turned off on its own once in over 2 years. I keep in on always for work, business, emergency use etc. I work under extreme conditions and this phone performs fine. You can buy a better battery. I also use an external HD rubber antenae for increased range. For its price its ok. I have used many phones both high-end and low-end and the T90 does it job. There are more rugged mobiles on the market, but I havent seen a Next G one yet. Oh, I also use mine in a 4WD connected to a HD off-road antenae. If you read above the strong points are its remote reception and rugged build, so I guess that sums up the T90!

  • Pros
    easy to use
  • Cons
    Keypad reliability nonexistent

My T90 failed two weeks after 12 month warranty expired. Keypad gone crazy, unable to enter pincode to start to try software manipulation. Never been dropped or wet. Telstra says I'm on my own, just keep paying for it. So I'm going to switch.

  • Pros
    It's quite rugged
  • Cons
    Very basic functions

I have had no major issues with this phone. I use it every day and it gets knocked about quite a bit. The screen could be improved. Buttons could be made bigger. I use Teltra Network and the phone works great in remote areas in Oz. The speaker/mic works ok for in-car use. This phone could be improved a lot. But for a basic semi-rugged rural phone it's okay! and cheap...

    Reception
  • Cons
    Reliability

I wouldn’t advise anyone to purchase the t90. I took mine back for repair due to it turning off and having to remove the battery to get it going again. The Tekstra Shop very kindly loaned me an identical phone which had the same problem, only worse. Got my replacement phone and the same day the same problem occurred twice. Next day – 4 times!
Also don’t waste your money on their car kit – to cut a long story short… they are crap.
