I had the choice to buy unlocked an HTC One X or a Samsung Galaxy Note; hard to make a decision, but I decided to buy the Galaxy Note which was more expensive than the HTC One X in a Phone Store in Sydney,Australia but after using it for a while I was happy a right decision was made. This phone is wonderful even though it is only a dual core and has only 16 GB in comparison with the HTC One X which has a quad-core and 32 GB. Looking forward to the Premiun ICS update in Australia.

It's funny that people keep talking about the size of these tab or tab like devices when it comes to phone functionality and Holding it to your ear. I want a 10" iPad or Android that functions as a phone. I don't intend on holding it up to my ear. I only use my blue tooth ear piece for my phone, so I would only use my ear piece for the tab.

I did not think I would use it much beyond reading and watcing movies, but man was I wrong. It's now my work PDA. It does everything but make a good cup of coffee, it can point me to the nearest local cafe though. Too big for my pocket? No!

OMG every single review of this product is needlessly biased. Its so obvious you're all apple lovers, but this device is simply a league above that yet again. Anyone who's used it will vouch for the pleasure of having such a screen in your pocket. Apple is simply being exposed for being behind the trend now by choosing to stick to such a small titchy 3.5in screen. The stylus is also a great addition and I can't believe everyone has been hypnotised by Steve Jobs to hate them. Pro Tip: Steve Jobs is dead now, and Apple's heyday is fast fading as well. Samsung is becoming ascendant, so stop it with all biased reviews tech writers.

Hey I have BIG HANDS and a bigger touchscreen would be welcome for us bigger guys. My EVO 4G had the biggest screen available when I got it 18 mos. ago and I would love a even bigger screen! And the bigger battery and longer run time too!
Can I buy one and get on air service c/o Sprint???

A list format (even in alphabetical order) is different to icons in a grid which is how most people want to view the applications menu. You can't sort the grid icons - that is the point.

Do writers learn English these days. Ware is not the same as wear.
Also, in this "review", the author may not have known that the menu button will allow the apps to be listed in alphabetical order if required. There are also a number of free apps that allow manipulation/sorting/grouping of apps.

This is what I would prefer over a tablet. It has a large enough screen spread sheets ans word docs on the business side. On the recreational side is big enough for movies and e-books. Plus the functionality of a phone.

There must be a screen-size beyond which you look ridiculous holding the device next to your ear.
I can live with that so if I can get the Note into my pocket without too much trouble I will buy one.

Ross, I use the Samsung galaxy tab as an everyday phone and this one is smaller, I think people will start getting used to the idea that a phone doesnt have to be held to your ear. I use a bluetooth headset and i can take notes, check contact details etc whilst on the phone. Oh and the galaxy tab fits in my pants and jacket pockets.

Hey guys this phone will be coming to Aus on 17th Nov or therebouts. Check it out on http://www.mobicity.com.au/
Its priced round $900 to pre-order
Also as to Apple (Steve Jobs may he R.I.P)
The thing is they tie you down sure they have brilliant hardware and functionality but there isn't much freedom as you have with Android. You practically have to root / jailbreak the Ipad - Iphone to install other apps etc...
And Apple should get over Flash seriously like build a bridge Flash will never die Adobe should serious sue Apple for their comments :-D
Congratulations Samsung on taking on Apple :)
Apple has been around since the early days before Microsoft and have grown to a multi billion dollar company
Hats of to Steve Jobs
But lets not forget Xerox that started it off.
Its up to us to choose what we want not to let people tell us this is bigger better faster etc...
We are HUMANS not ROBOTS and many Apple fans wont care what I am saying but each to their own I like Android You like Apple I like Linux you Like Mac Widows etc...
Its about personal choice and wants and needs If the Iphone is what you like then great but for me Ill wait for the Galaxy Note and the freedom to customize Apple think outside the square and
JOIN WITH SAMSUNG = Smapple :-D that will be BRILLIANT stop arguing about which came first the chicken or the egg? just remember without the two of yous wed still be crazking handles to dial ie: Alexander Graham Bell
I look forward to seeing SMAPPLE in the near future :-D

This is the best of all worlds. More time to read, listen, update and watch. Take the occasional call. If it's too huge to make calls - surely it has a Bluetooth interface. Can you skype?

- ConsWill the screen have the Green cast like my Galaxy S?
Too big? I used to build electronics items for Engineers, they never knew what they REALLY wanted until I gave them a first iteration.. I'd wait to see what people say after they have one in their hands.. I checked my Jeans and Dockers pockets, it could be far bigger and be perfectly fine... I'd buy a bigger model if one came on the market!!

Great looking device. I've owned the Palm T/X, iPhone, N900, and Dell Streak 5, but I think the Galaxy Note blends the best features of all of the aforementioned gadgets.

- Prossize and pen are very handy
- ConsPrice. At 600 pounds!
Brilliant phone it seems. A nice in between fitting into a man pocket or lady purse and still big enough to so some fairly serious work.
PRICE however is prohibitive. 600 pounds is about a million Australia dollars so it'll have to stay on the shelf for now.

Every time I see the promotional videa...I gotta see it like 3 or 4 times in a row, its that amazing...the specs are awesome, the size is fantastic, more screen real estate the better but not too big that its not as portable....This product is going to be the next Ipad type...all Android manufacturers should get rolling with this as well, I mean why not... the thing is so awesome, I can't say how awesome it is, I can't call it, its that awesome.
