- ProsQuality and connectivity
- Conslack of a SECON digital tuner
I purchased this not so long ago and was imediately impressed by the quality of the unit. Its packed with features you would normaly find in more expencive brands.
That said, I do have one big issue with this unit. The lack of a second digital tuner. If you remember the old VCR recorders, if you wanted to record a program from the VCR you just hit the record button and then turned the TV over to another program you wanted to watch. This is how you would have to do it with this unit.
The other "small" gripe with this unit and thats the lack of access to net TV and movies from the net. What a waist of a very good network / internet feature. I give it a 4.5 out of 5

How do you set it up so you can watch TV while recording?

We purchased an LG Blu-ray Disc Player with built in HDD & Twin HD Tuner (HR698D/HR699D) P/NO : MFL65225522 for $400 AU
I am writing out of frustration - this is the worst piece of electronics I have ever experienced. Not only do I want to return this overpriced device, I want you to know how poorly devised and un-user friendly it is. I have compiled a list of reasons why I dislike this product so much:
1. Cannot delete a recording while a recording is taking place
2. Cannot start watching a recording OR edit a recording that is taking place (can easily be done on devices on loan from the cable company in the United States).
3. Device automatically shuts off after recording is finished, cannot edit in settings
4. 'FF/RW' buttons are right next to 'skip to end' buttons on remote
5. Cannot track where you are in recording while in FF or RW
6. Doesn't load shows in the TV guide until you click on the channel, often loses end of show
Not worth your time or your money.
