Hi Adam,
Thanks for getting in touch with us.
I've contacted Humax technical support, and they have confirmed with me that our review is accurate - the 7500T PVR is able to play these file types (AVI, MPG, MP4, MKV and VOB) over USB, and over DLNA on a network.
If you are having problems with your 7500T PVR, it would be best to contact Humax directly. I have sent the company's technical support an email asking them to call you on your supplied phone number to help you with this issue.
If you wish to contact Humax, I have included the company's details here:
Phone: 1300 737 937
E-mail: ausupport@humaxdigital.com
Thank you,
Campbell Simpson

- Prosseems ok so far
- Consthe lying reviewer
you clearly state that -
We tried AVI, MPG, MP4, MKV and VOB files that we had at our disposal, and all played without problems
This is completely wrong. I bought this player on recommendation from your review.
One of my main needs was the abiliry to watch all the files you state i can watch, I thought this site was a credible at reviewing products and could be trusted that what you say is the truth.
There was very little said anywhere about the ability to play said file types so when i read this review I, and everyone else im guessing, would assume that what you says is truthful, clearly not.
I expect an email from this website stating why it is that you have clearly lied to the public, and even till this day, 6 months from the original review, there is still no modification to the review to rectify the lie.
I will be expecting full purchase price refund from this site as your review is clearly misleading. You have my email and i will give further contact info as needed.
If you wish not to refund the purchase price of this product im sure there will be more than just myself whom have purchased this on recommendation from your site and a class action maybe needed if you feel this is the way to go.
To anyone else reading this please leave a comment in regards to this class action if the need arises.
It really goes to show how creditable your
"professional review" site is. What other products have you lied about, even more class actions to follow with those i bet.

Your review of the Humax HDR-7500T said "We tried AVI, MPG, MP4, MKV and VOB files that we had at our disposal, and all played without problems" I've just bought one and it wont play .mkv from usb drive or network. Most dissapointed in both the PVR and tour review

- ProsPVR functions and menu, picture quality, ease of setup, easy to use
- ConsDLNA flaky- occasional frame drop on avi playback, music player rudimentary, no flac support, no samba
I like this box- stable and reliable . EPG and TV functions are awesome. Network ability is not- DLNA is as flaky as all get out and the music player is close to unusable. But these are minor issues that should get fixed in firmware upgrades- and the company seems eager to please

Hi Campbell
In regards to the MKV playback I am obviously not the only one whom is having issues playing back this file type, I understand there are various "flavours" of MKV but you clearly stat that it will play back MKV.
Mike Adams comments on the same issue just below my comment.
In regard to Humax contacting me to fix the issue this hasnt happened either.
I and I would guess others, would like to see the actual MKV and other files you tested the system with if you could upload the actual files somewhere so this can be tested.
Until then I stand by my original comments.
