You can't change maps from country to country. Very frustrating! I had an older Tomtom and have purchased maps and wish to put them on a new Go1000, but if you buy Australia, that's all you get.

Had my tomtom for about 2 months now, and I love it. The maps are great. Mine came without speed camera alert but it is now available on the web site. When I connect to the internet it updates regularly. Maybe the handsfree could be a little louder. All in all happy.

- ProsThe screen responds very sensitively and intelligently to touch. Sharp Screen.
- ConsIt's software (My TomTom) isn't capable to Backup and Restore yet! Software developers still working hard! (06.20.2011)
Menus and functions are very practical, simply and adequately for every purpose. Absoloute clear voice. Map on the device is perfect in my region (Europe). The best GPS I have had.

As an owner of an early Tomtom GPS I upgraded to the 1000 and weeks later still have no speed camera alerts. The turn around time from Tomtom support has been slow and to date not helpful. As Google search also shows I am not alone with the camera issue.
The revised computer web based interface "My Tomtom" is poor in comparison to Tomtom Home. From a users point of view why have they tried to fix the earlier interface when it worked so well?
Must say I would look at other units in preference to this one.
If they can sort these glitches out it would be great but seems like that won't happen in the near future.
