- ProsEase of use out of the box
- ConsThe user guide is inadequate
This is the first NAVMAN I've owned (MY75T) and I find it to be an excellent product. I'm still learning to use a lot of the functions but from the box it was so easy to use my 6 yo grandson got the hang of it in a few minutes. As far as turing off with the ignition....DUH John....the thing has and internal battery and will go to power save like every other 'portable' GPS unit but the battery will flatten over time. In my car I have the socket it plugs into 'live' all the time and running off an auxillary battery so the battery going flat (it would take 10 years with the drain a GPS has) is not an issue for me.

Do not waste you time or money on this. Touch screen does not work when it gets hot and the unit locks up, really handy in Australia. It idea of shortest route is to drive you around the block and return you to the street you were on ?????. Please do not waste your money on this product.

- ProsWhen it works
- ConsTech support
Yes, I too thought I bought the "ducks guts" in GPS, within one year I've had to send it back twice because it would freeze up. It works well during the winter, but if it sits in the sun too long the touch screen becomes unresponsive. To fix it, hold it front of the AIr con vent for about 5 min, great if you need to get to site in a hurry.
This is my second Navman, then next one is going to be a Tom Tom.

What a disaster!! Unresponsive, incorrect, inaccurate, slow. Dreadful ugly appearance and heats up incredibly when used. Battery lasts about 3 minutes.
And try to get service/answers/responses from the famously appalling Navman "service" centre - they are untrained, disinterested, unresponsive and frankly rate nowhere compared to the competition. Touch this device at your peril!!!

Power failures on Navman S300t (so call 'top of the line') are legend - batteries last a few minutes after you have had the device for a few months, power failures (cannot use AC Power, In Car Charger, PC USB) to power battery. This would not be so bad if Navman 'service' was any good - but it's a nightmare. Long, long, long waits on call centre number (no indication of HOW LONG), some guy in Phillippines or wherever, reading from a script. Wants $ 132 before anything, then send the Navman to some obsure PO Box. Too many reports on blogs saying they send the device, then never see it again, forced to call Navman multiple times through the nightmare call centre again. Truly dreadful. They should be out of business and should be rreported to Dept Fair Trading. Garmin - here we come.

The navdesk software has so many bugs. According to navdesk, my brother is 400 Km north of where he actually lives. Navdesk is the worst GPS software ive seen yet.

I feel that directions telling you to turn in 176 km at xxxx St would be more helpfully if included town name. Most speed limit alerts in country QLD & NSW do not show 110 km/h zones or in a lot of cases no limit shown . Ie Gladstone to Tannum Sands only show speed limit on section to Bruce Highway. A lot of areas warn you that you are breaking the speed limit of 60 when it is intact the open road at 100 km/h.
