Helps avoid speeding fines - Speed Alert
  • Cons
    Quality of hardware

I purchased the Navig8r – i43 ( June 2011) for the special price of $98.00. Would have been prepared to pay more for it, because I wanted it for one reason alone – SpeedAlert!
I already have a very good Garmin GPS unit, but it cannot help me with voice alerts regarding live speed situations. I therefore use it alongside the Garmin which helps with navigation.
SpeedAlert works very well for me. It greatly helps me to be aware of the current speed limits as they are changing along the route I am travelling, and more importantly, warns me verbally as well as by alarm, as soon as my speed begins to exceed the speed limit for the particular stretch of road.
In my opinion this is currently the driver’s best defence against Police Speed Cameras. It helps to stay within the speed limits and avoid fines.
The Analogue Speedometer is easy to monitor. I just set it for speed monitoring . Works wonders for me.
While I agree with most of negatives highlighted in the Expert’s Review, I still feel that this unit is well worth the money simply for the benefit of SpeedAlert coupled with Analogue Speedometer.
This unit can help improve my driving and save me from speeding fines and preserve my licence.
The unit will I’m sure be improved in all other aspects with time. However, I know of no other GPS system which can currently compete with the SpeedAlert working in the Navig8r i43.
Every driver would be better off giving consideration to this unit.
I gave a rating of 4 for SpeedAlert - no other product can do waht it does, and it will save many drivers from speeding fines from unintentional speeding.
