- ProsThe speed
- ConsThe big mirror
I've got one! Mine's a 27-inch i7 3.4Ghz with 1TB drive, 8GB RAM and 2GB 6970M. So far so good - in fact it's brilliant. But then it ought to be as it cost me over £1700 (pre tax) here in the UK. I was upgrading from an iMac G5, so the difference in performance is mega. I transferred the data from the G5 via Time Machine and an external hard drive - worked like a dream. It even copied over my own equaliser settings from iTunes, which I wasn't expecting. I'm even sure I'll get over the glossy glass screen eventually, too.

- ProsOther computer types
- Conspaying apple too much money for basic services. being told what apps are appropriate for my purchase. Limited business software... sure you can use a mac but for real business apps you are going to be lacking or ignorant of what's available,
Given, new computers are cool and Mac makes some cool looking PCs. My problem is that they DO NOT support their machines end of life or if you are NOT paying them a monthly fee. This is the major reason why I cannot recommend Macs to anyone. Know any NON-tech savy people who are stuck with a broken POS Mac and they have no way to get their files/downloads unless they pay a supposed genius? I do!!
You can easily get a laptop which exceeds ALL the above specs and cost approximately 1/2. It's not a mac though.

I doubt if Phil even owns one, if he did he would know that there are a lot of professional programs available for the Mac, you don't say what programs you want, bashers and trolls aren't cool your post marks you as one or the other.
I purchased my 27 inch, 3.4GHz with 2 TB hard drive, AMD 2970M with 2 Gigs of video ram. I added another 4 gigs of ram myself, it's cheaper than having Apple do it, and a 3 year Apple care extended warranty. Total US dollar cost $2500 plus. Do I like it, I flat love it. The first movie I played on it was Horatio Hornblower/ Duty, i felt like I was getting sea sick, before I moved back a couple of feet
