    Hide SSID does not work

The latest incarnation of this device (Blue case) the disable broadcast of SSID does not work. when you fisrt select Disable it works fine but does not save the setting to the hardware. When you power up the device again it is broadcasting the SSID, even though the web interface states it is disabled.

    Nothing so far

Great speed results so far and absolutely easy to use. No issues activating the product. All done over the telephone. 4 hours after activation I am on the air. As the product is WIFI, there is no need to install any software either, just use the WIFI software that comes with your Operating System. I am using a Mac, typed in the supplied WIFI security pass-phrase and done. If you login to the Elite Next G router, you can click on a tab and check your usage, there is also a recharge option. I have not used that yet.

At $129 for the hardware with 5Gb / 3 months access to Next G included, I think that's good value especially when I need coverage in regional centres. The coverage is what I am happy to pay more for. While I understand there are no guarantees in terms of coverage, I feel Next G is by best option.

I will purchase the 1 year / 10Gb plan next; the cost is currently $150. This will last me a year easily. For the convenience this offers in terms of the ability to get my work done, without the pain of coverage issues I may face with another provider, I am well satisfied.

Agree- the power save is a problem. Isn't there a way of turning it off?

  • Pros
    not
  • Cons
    hot

"but conveniently turns itself off after 10 minutes of inactivity."
Is very anoying as it does this even when on usb power, so its not ready when you open your laptop, you have to wake it up and wait for it to connect. I can't find anyway to turn off the powersave.
