Samsung announces 2TB Hard Disc Drives for high-performance desktop systems

Sydney, 09 March 2010 – Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the HD203WI, its new high-performance HDD (Hard Disk Drive) for the desktop market.

Sydney, 09 March 2010 – Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the HD203WI, its new high-performance HDD (Hard Disk Drive) for the desktop market.

The HD203WI, a higher capacity model from its predecessor, the HD154UI, features up to 2TB capacity across four 500GB disks. As such, users can store up to 880 hours of DVD video or over 500,000 songs in MP3 format. With the ability to store to four disks at the same time, this HDD is a more power efficient option for users looking to store large amounts of data.

“Storage-hungry multimedia professionals, gamers and home PC users continue to increase the amount of video, music, photos and other personal data they store and back-up,” Emmanuele Silanesu, Product & Marketing Manager, Samsung Electronics Australia. “The HD203WI delivers the benefits of a power efficient drive with increased performance.”

The HD203WI incorporates a 3.0Gbps SATA interface, Native Command Queuing features and a 16MB/32MB buffer memory.

The HD203WI is available in Australia now at an RRP of $259.90.
