Epson’s Stylus CX5500 carries a number of flaws which will deter some buyers. However, given its low price point and cost efficiency, this multi-function will suit those in need of a budget unit with cheap running costs.

The X2470 is cheap on paper, but its running costs will stack up in the long run. Add to this the average speed and final quality that fails to match that of similar models and you have an MFD that may struggle to establish itself.

This inexpensive MFP would fit well in a home where fast and easy operation is important and image quality is secondary.

The Stylus Office TX300F is slow and poorly built, but for its price it’s certainly appealing. The unit provides a slight compromise between dirt cheap and acceptable quality, and the automatic document feeder is a welcome feature.

The P4350 is an improvement on previous Lexmark models, but there are still some concerns over its print and scanning quality. For the price though, it does combine all the multifunction features into a pretty good looking and easy to use printer.

Wi-Fi connectivity is a bonus for small office networks, and this multifunction has some useful features that can be used without a PC. However, it suffers poor print quality and can be quite slow.

The Dell 968w is a good machine overall. We just can't recommend it quite as highly as we would other inkjet multifunction printers that offer similar (or better) capabilities for about the same price.

Trading performance and quality for an economical price, the Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 964 still provides a wealth of small-office features.

The latest addition to HP’s Photosmart line-up, the C6280 is a capable multi-function for families and home users. However, it has quality issues and lacks CD/DVD printing.

The Brother MFC-5840CN is good value for a networked MFP, but slow speeds and middling print quality limit its usefulness in an office setting.

A reasonable photo all-in-one that really shows its strength with speedy text printing. A decent alternative if you need office functions as a backup on your photo setup.

The imageCLASS MF4380dn is a decent multifunction for small businesses, with fast print speeds and good print quality. There are some small issues with its design and local scanning, but overall this multifunction is adequate.
