Overall, the Megxon MX7 isn't really worth your money. It's poor image quality and slow operation combined with the distorted audio from the music player make this a disappointing product.

The FZ30 is a joy to take pictures with. If not for the price tag, and the image noise problem, this would be one of our favourites. As it stands, it is a solid entry by Panasonic, and will satisfy most users.

The Pro815 is a good first attempt by Samsung, but it is missing a few things that would allow it to compete with the big guns. The most practical feature is the 15X zoom, and if that is important to you then this may be a consideration

Another home run for Canon, while the PowerShot A720 IS isn't perfect it is pretty close and it's combination of sharp, vibrant pictures, speedy operation and manual shooting modes is sure to please a variety of consumers.

The Kodak P880 would have been a great camera but for problems with image quality, and massive write times for the advanced file formats.

One of the best value for money products available in the digital SLR range.

Olympus's MJU 820 doesn't capture brilliant pictures, but its combination of a stylish and sturdy design along with some nifty features and funky guide mode make it a reasonable happy-snap camera for novice users.

A little disappointing, the MJU 810 doesn't quite live up to its predecessor's name offering a solid if not awe inspiring compact model with poorer than expected image quality.

While the design and feature set are fairly attractive, the Kodak EasyShare M883 unfortunately suffers from the same image quality issues that plagued its predecessor. If you're making small prints and want a simple to use point-and-shoot then this may be a reasonable choice, but otherwise you should probably look elsewhere.

A highly recommended purchase. Although the image quality was not quite up to what we were expecting from an 8 megapixel sensor, for the price it still blew the competition away.
