Linksys has done a good job at simplifying the process of installing a secure wireless network at home with the WRT54GS, and though it isn't as fast as some of the competition, the bolstered security is worth the trade-off.

If you take your gaming seriously and have more than one computer with a gigabit Ethernet port, D-Link's DGL-4300 is a good bet.

This is an excellent router for short-range file transfers and can be tailored to provide great performance over long distances, up to 50m away.

The Billion BIPAC 7404VGPM lacks MIMO antenna technology and USB ports but the Internet speed, wireless capabilities and its VoIP functionality during our tests were solid.

All up, this is a terrific little wireless router for an ADSL or cable Internet connection. It's inexpensive, easy to use and has good features. We do wish the Quick Setup process focused on security, too, and we also wish the unit had an on/off switch, for more simple resets.

The WL-600g is affordable and it proved to be a reliable modem and wireless access point, but its user interface needs improvement. The built-in FTP server is a nice touch, but didn't let us write to our NTFS-formatted hard drives.

All up, we didn't have to fiddle with this router's settings at all, apart from entering our Internet and wireless connectivity details. It distributed our Internet connection and streamed multimedia files to various wireless clients without any problems, and its speeds were admirable during our tests. For users who need a new wireless router for the home, or even for a small office, this one is worth considering.

Overall, it's easy to set-up and it produced fast wireless results in our tests. If you're after a new wireless router with draft-n capability, the DIR-615 is a relatively inexpensive option.

With a firmware update to support 802.11n-only mode and better throughput, along with a modest price cut, the N1 Vision would be almost 20-20.

For users who want a fast wireless N router, this D-Link is a worthy choice. It produced very fast results in our tests, it's versatile, and it has some nifty interface features. But its physical design could be better.
