The IBM ThinkVision L190 delivers crisp text in an easy-to-use, no-frills package.

The ViewSonic VP2250wb has many good points, not least its top-quality colour palette. However, at this price, we expect more the viewing angle issues in particular are not impressive. It's fine if you work alone, but for bustling offices the viewing angles may prove a bar to you showing off your work in all the finery that this screen really ought to be able to deliver.

ASUS' MK241H is a solid 24in widescreen display. It has strongly saturated colours and some of its extras, such as the speakers, aren't perfect, but it should satisfy most media and gaming enthusiasts.

Despite its limitations, this monitor is compelling because it has very good contrast. We think its best use is for watching DVDs.

The VX2025m is not the best monitor on the market but it is definitely great value.

The Viewsonic VX2245wm is an excellent 22 inch widescreen monitor at a very decent price, but is let down by its poor integrated speakers.

This unit produced an excellent colour response. A great all-round screen for watching movies, playing games or browsing the Internet.

Overall, if the HP w2207h finds its way into your home or office, you'll most likely be happy with it. Just be prepared to buy a DVI adaptor.

Despite some problems with noise and a brightness limitation, this screen performed well in our tests and is worth considering if you need a big screen monitor.

If you're after a multimedia and gaming display that also packs in a reasonably good audio system, the ASUS PG221 may be a suitable choice. While its price tag is quite high and the sound quality isn't stunning, overall it should satisfy many users.

The only problem with this monitor is its reflective screen, which can be a bit of a nuisance in a well-lit environment. Apart from that, its colours and luminance were exceptional in all our tests. It's well-suited to viewing and editing photos, as well as movie-watching and game-playing.

The BenQ FP91V+ sports a glossy, bright screen that makes graphics look great.
