Though far from a technical fighting game, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe exceeds expectations by delivering a solidly enjoyable casual fighter. The Mature-rated gore is missed, but the core combat here feels more confident and energetic than it has in years.

Amazing visuals, a slick control scheme and sublime free-running gameplay combine to form a unique and fascinating game that delivers some genuine moments of "Holy crap, did I just do that?" thrills. However, some poorly designed levels, awful combat sequences, a skeletal storyline unforgiving collision detection keeps it from soaring to greater heights. Still, it's one hell of a ride and one I definitely recommend you take.

Bigger, badder and better than the first, Resistance 2 improves upon the formula set by its predecessor in almost every way. Unfortunately, a handful of minor issues, such as less than stellar graphics, keep this game from reaching the high bar set by competing titles like Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War 2. Still, with its interesting single-player campaign and robust online component, Resistance 2 has plenty to offer any PS3 owner looking for a quick and easy shooter fix.

Yes, Capcom did a masterful job of recapturing the old school vibe — you'll swear you were back in 1987 when you play this game-but it's so freaking difficult that it's downright discouraging. Still, with its low price and faithfulness to the franchise's roots, it's definitely worth the download.
