Although we were disappointed by the screen and battery life, this system offers some great media functionality and looks stylish at that.

While not for everyone, the nc6400 proved to be a solid choice for those after a business notebook, offering reasonable performance combined with optional 3G internet built in.

The Presario V3000 is an attractively sleek and compact notebook slightly let down by its less-than-stellar battery life. However, for those who value design and portability over beefy specs, it remains an affordable and worthy purchase.

HP's Pavilion tx1001 is not a powerful performer, but for a small premium you get the benefit of touch-screen functionality with your notebook. It still offers all the perks of the Pavilion range, but brings a new physical element to computing.

The Pavilion dv6000 is a bit like a supermodel; it's so gorgeous that you're willing to overlook any flaws just to get your hands on it. Thankfully, its catwalk stumbles are kept to a minimum -- an impressive piece of hardware.
