A fantastic entry into the 3G market, the 6280 offers a superb user interface, together with an outstanding display. Definitely one of the best 3G handsets available.

The W910i is another excellent addition to the Walkman range, combining a well-crafted design with some new music features. It doesn't come cheap, but provided you don't require an exceptional camera, this handset is definitely another winner.

If you don't need push e-mail, then this is one of the best handsets currently available. Stylish, compact and packed full of features, Samsung are onto another winner yet again with the 3G enabled Z400, even if its battery life is a let down.

The Nokia N91 is a top notch music phone with a massive 4GB hard drive. As a mobile phone the 3G-capable Nokia does include some good features but is let down by a cramped keypad, slow interface and weight. There is plenty of potential in this unit though and with improvements to the design, Nokia may be onto a winner.

The G800 is the cream of the crop when it comes to camera phones. Five megapixels, 3x optical zoom and face detect make this a handy imaging device to have in your pocket. Camera aside, the rest of the handset is solid, but not outstanding.

Sony Ericsson continues to set high standards with their current range and the W850i is no exception. If you can look past the uncomfortable navigational pad, this is an excellent 3G phone.

The Shine is another fashion oriented camera that will appease many who are after a stylish handset, however some design and operation issues mean it isn't all it could be.

It's nice to see that LG has improved the navigation with a new jog wheel and the support for Telstra's Next G makes this phone a powerful handheld device. Still, some quirks remain, including the poor battery life. Functionality aside this is a very stylish looking phone that will keep the fashion conscious happy.

The i560 is a capable but not outstanding mobile phone. The lack of Wi-Fi may be a deal breaker for some, but the included GPS software and accessories are welcome additions.

The U400 offers a new control system but its performance isn't really up to scratch. The handset has a solid, if not outstanding list of features, but a poor battery life and chunky design don't do it any favours.

The 8800 Arte is a stunning handset to look at, but its exuberant price means you don't get much bang for your buck.
