The iPhone 3G improves on its predecessor, refining its strengths and eliminating some of its flaws. On the way, however, it picked up a few more flaws. Exchange and MobileMe support are appealing, but poor battery life and substandard GPS implementation will deter some people.

The K810i remains a great camera phone, but minimal improvements over its predecessor mean that it won't tempt current K800i owners to upgrade.

The Z610i is a handset that will appeal to those who want something extremely stylish, yet not without substance.

Sony Ericsson continues to set high standards with their current range and the W850i is no exception. If you can look past the uncomfortable navigational pad, this is an excellent 3G phone.

The Ferrari additions are largely aesthetic improvements. Under the hood, the RAZR2 V9 is a similar handset to the original version.

The W760i is the first Walkman handset to be available on the Next G network. Although it doesn’t offer any outstanding features, the combination of a smooth design, excellent build quality and Sony Ericsson’s Walkman software makes this an excellent handset overall.

The 903 boasts an outstanding camera and display screen and has a wide variety of features.

The razor thin Z510 is a fine entry into the 3G market and comes highly recommended. Although its poor camera and lack of memory expansion are hindrances, its design and user interface ensure it is still a hit.

A great option for 3G users. If you need a slim video phone, the Samsung Z540 is a perfect choice.

The KF700 is an admirable handset when you consider it isn’t positioned in the top echelon of the market. We like where LG is heading with its Touch series, and the KF700 is certainly an excellent example of this.

The RAZR2 V9 is a similar handset to the original version with improvements that are largely aesthetic. This isn’t all bad news, although the camera could use an upgrade.

Sony Ericsson’s latest Cyber-shot phone has an impressive mix of imaging and phone functions. There are a few minor issues, but on the whole this is a welcome addition to the market.
