Like the 6600 Fold, the Slide is a stylish handset that doesn't necessarily offer a wealth of features but does the basics well. At the end of the day the choice will depend on what form factor you prefer.

We really like the look of the F480T and the fact that it comes with a decent features list. But although the touch screen is reasonably responsive, there are too many niggling interface issues to highly recommend it.

At this price, Telstra's T6 is reasonable value and it boasts some good features. However, there are better designed handsets in this segment of the phone market.

The 6600 Fold is style personified. This mid-range 3G handset may not offer a wealth of features, but its design, OLED display and build quality will appeal.

If you’re purely after a phone for imaging, then the C905 will be right up your alley. While we’re still waiting for optical zoom, the photos it produces are pretty noteworthy for a camera phone. An excellent design and good build quality are slightly let down by a somewhat sluggish user interface and a proprietary headphone jack.

The RAZR2 V9 is a similar handset to the original version with improvements that are largely aesthetic. This isn’t all bad news, although the camera could use an upgrade.

We were expecting big things from the 6210 Navigator, but the fact that turn-by-turn navigation is only free for six months is a huge disappointment. We can’t see the point of this handset when most handsets in Nokia’s new range offer GPS and Nokia Maps.

The W980i is Sony Ericsson’s most stylish clamshell yet. A great combination of style and features, 8GB of memory and excellent headphones make this one of the best music handsets currently on the market.
