The Samsung A501 is a solid, but far from outstanding HSDPA-capable phone. While its compact size may be an advantage, outdated specifications in key areas mean that the A501 isn't able to fully immerse you in the Next G experience as it should.

Samsung has managed to outdo the previous D500 which is certainly no mean feat. The D600 is a feature packed mobile phone and one of the best handsets we've reviewed to date

The Nokia N91 8GB is a top notch music phone with a massive 8GB hard drive, but improvements over the previous model are limited. As a mobile phone the N91 8GB does include some good features but is let down by a cramped keypad and slow interface.

It's amazing that Dopod has managed to fit so many features into such a compact smartphone. You need to pay extra for mapping software, so the P800W is far from a cheap investment, but for some, the all-in-one convenience makes it worthwhile.

Finally, a BlackBerry that appeals to the regular consumer. The Pearl is an excellent device that sacrifices none of RIM's famous email functionality while still managing to provide a compact and light form factor and multimedia capabilities.

The SureType keyboard maybe initially cause some frustration, but once you get used to it, this is another excellent BlackBerry unit. A smaller size and a far more pleasing design should make the 7130g appeal to an even wider audience than usual.

The proprietary headphone jacks and USB and Bluetooth 1.1 are a let down, however the A701 still remains a solid and well built handset with a good features list.

The Nokia 6151 offers excellent bang for your buck if you are willing to compromise on keypad and controls.

Housed in a sleek and sophisticated design, the D900 is another excellent handset from Samsung that is only let down by a below average battery life.

With a stunning reflective surface and unique slim design, the MOTOKRZR K1 is one of the best looking mobile phones we’ve seen. It’s not all about looks though, as this phone has a generous features list for its asking price.

If you're after a phone first and mobile email second, the 7100g is the BlackBerry for you.

Sony Ericsson continues to set high standards with their current range and the W850i is no exception. If you can look past the uncomfortable navigational pad, this is an excellent 3G phone.
