The i-Mate is a rather large and bulky unit, but it does have a pretty good list of features and functions without any major problems.

The RAZR V3i just doesn't offer any awe inspiring improvements to justify a higher rating. It's still a very solid handset, but in terms of an upgrade, it's not worth an entire new model.

The closest thing to perfect we have seen, the I-mate K-JAM is packed full of features with a reasonable size and keyboard.

The MOTOROKR Z6 corrects two of Motorola's biggest issues - user interface and speed - making it an excellent handset overall.

There is no need to upgrade if you already own the previous W800i, but if not, you could do a lot worse than choosing the W810i. Once again, Sony Ericsson has got it spot on with a comprehensive handset full of the latest features, all wrapped in an attractive package. Fantastic.

The D820 is another fine effort from Samsung and continues the standard set by their previous models. This one is even more stylish and sexy than its predecessor and features a better display.

It may not be as razor thin as its predecessor, but the RAZR V3x brings to the table a good set of features in a stylish package.

The SLVR L7 is an admirable effort by Motorola to provide the same wow factor of the RAZR in a candybar format. A better quality camera and a long awaited update to the user interface and Motorola could well be onto something very special here.

The BlackBerry Curve 8310 adds GPS to an already enticing unit. Its only real drawbacks are the lack of Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.

The Palm Treo 650 is a fully featured smartphone with its small size, backlit keyboard and improved camera making it a worthwhile purchase.

The HipTop Slide maintains its reputation for delivering a great mobile messaging solution, but its features are pale in comparison to some newer, more feature rich smartphones on the market.
