The W760i is the first Walkman handset to be available on the Next G network. Although it doesn’t offer any outstanding features, the combination of a smooth design, excellent build quality and Sony Ericsson’s Walkman software makes this an excellent handset overall.

If you want the fastest possible access to Telstra's Next G network, then the A811 is an excellent choice.

The U400 offers a new control system but its performance isn't really up to scratch. The handset has a solid, if not outstanding list of features, but a poor battery life and chunky design don't do it any favours.

The A551 is a solid, but not outstanding mobile phone. It does a relatively basic job and access to the Next G services is notable, but there is nothing that sticks out about this handset.

Sony Ericsson continues to set high standards with their current range and the W850i is no exception. If you can look past the uncomfortable navigational pad, this is an excellent 3G phone.

Housed in a sleek and sophisticated design, the D900 is another excellent handset from Samsung that is only let down by a below average battery life.

A solid offering purely as a phone and a handy answering machine application aren’t enough to make the Stealth appealing. Ultimately let down by a poor design, issues with text input and a rather moderate battery life.

It's nice to see that LG has improved the navigation with a new jog wheel and the support for Telstra's Next G makes this phone a powerful handheld device. Still, some quirks remain, including the poor battery life. Functionality aside this is a very stylish looking phone that will keep the fashion conscious happy.

The 5300 XpressMusic does a great job at merging an MP3 player with a mobile phone, but you'll have to spring for a larger memory card to use it as an everyday player.

Without a doubt, the best entry level mobile phone on the market. Well priced, a solid features list and an excellent design make the D520 look and feel like a much more expensive handset.

The KF390 is a competitive offering for rural consumers, but it is also great for city slickers too. It won’t blow you away with features, but this is a solid handset that does the job with minimal fuss.

The KF700 is an admirable handset when you consider it isn’t positioned in the top echelon of the market. We like where LG is heading with its Touch series, and the KF700 is certainly an excellent example of this.
