Dell’s M209X is light, well-priced and has a high brightness level. If you can look past the fiddly remote, it’s a great portable data projector.

For a business projector the Toshiba SP1 fulfils its role admirably. However, if you need a silent model the SP1 isn’t for you.

The EX20 from Toshiba is great for small rooms. It also has wireless connectivity — an unusual but useful feature in a projector.

Despite its average picture quality in our tests, the X1160 is a suitable projector for the business person who frequently goes on the road to give presentations, or for the user who wants an inexpensive big-screen for a home theatre setup.

The Viewsonic PJ760 will suit someone in the market for a projector that will project well and play video too. It has its image problems but on the whole it does a pretty good job, it just could have been a lot better.

For the extra cost, the small increase in brightness is not enough reason to purchase the IN26+ over the regular IN26.

A solid, but not outstanding business projector, InFocus' IN36 is a compact unit, but it suffers from some colour and contrast issues that, even with calibration, cannot be fully remedied.

This projector would be recommended for medium-to-large conference rooms if it wasn't for its very noticeable rainbow effect. While there may be some lucky individuals who don't see it, everyone we showed it to did see it. It makes the image completely unwatchable.

A solid business projector, the EMP-822's size means it isn't suitable for those regularly on the road, but it provides good quality images and backs them up with LAN support.

The InFocus Work Big IN26 is a good all-round projector that can handle a wide range of sources and has above average image quality. If you are in the market for an attractive unit with good performance, you should give this model a look.

If you are only planning to use it to office presentations, the InFocus Work Big IN32 may suffice but keep in mind that the colours it produces are not accurate.
