With a great price, superior picture quality and extensive feature set, the 55PD8800TA is easily the best plasma TV we have reviewed thus far.

The PDP-5000EX is the best display available on the market, though it comes at a price.

While the PDP-427XDA performs well in High Definition, the issues with SD and PC signals are a factor especially considering the price point.

The 42PD960DTA is a good all round mid-range television but has its problems across all modes and is far from brilliant.

The Samsung PS50Q7HD delivers high-end image quality at a reasonable price. This is a great unit for High Definition and does a good job for Standard Definition.

The Panasonic TH-42PX600A performed brilliantly in standard definition and when connected to a PC. High definition content and HDTV also looks quite good on the unit, but not as good as the other image modes. If you own a media centre PC or want your DVD collection to look great, this is definitely worth consideration.

The LG 50PB2DR, with integrated DVR, is an excellent Plasma panel capable of producing incredible HD images, but it falters slightly in SD and PC performance.

The Hitachi 50PDP9800TA is a mid-range big-screen TV. It was excellent in our high definition tests and produced reasonable results in our standard definition tests.

The Fujitsu PlasmaVision P50XHA58EB is an excellent plasma panel capable of delivering superb high definition images, as well as convincing standard definition images.

The Fujitsu PlasmaVision P42XHA58EB is a great unit capable of delivering reasonable high definition images while also being able to convincingly display standard definition as well.

If you are in the market for a mid-range Plasma television with good all round performance, the Q9 series from Samsung is definitely worth a look.

The Panasonic TH-50PX70A is an excellent all-round high-end Plasma panel that performs well across standard and high definition resolutions.
