Samsung's LA40N81BD offers a good choice for users looking to take the leap into high-definition video. The Samsung LA32R81BD will undoubtedly be popular with consumers due to its design and reasonable price tag, but that's not the only thing it has going for it. If you're looking to buy an R8-series LCD TV, you won't be disappointed with its image quality.

If you're looking for a high-quality unit at a rock-bottom price, the AT4230 is well-worth considering.

The Hitachi 32LD960DTA performed brilliantly in high definition and had only a handful of minor problems in standard definition.
