Sharp's LC-37D33X is a fairly solid mid-range TV. Its 720p native resolution is fine for both HD and SD viewing, but the image does have some pixelation issues that may irritate some users.

Versatile monitor/TV with a reasonable RRP

Panasonic's Viera TX-32LZD800A is a solid unit for users looking for a smaller display. It offers good image quality with a few niggling issues, and it has some nifty features like 100Hz playback, making it a relatively appealing package.

The Grundig Elegance GLCD4001 is a mid-range TV with entry level features and above-average performance at a reasonable price.

If you're in the market for a good all-round unit, the Philips 32PF9531/79 will fit the bill nicely.

The LC37AW5X is a quite a good television but it is not up to the same standard as its predecessors. It performs well in both Standard and High Definition, but has some sharpening issues and poor connectivity support which stop it from scoring higher.

The Hitachi 37LD9000TA performed brilliantly in our HD gaming tests, but had some minor flaws in other areas.

Excellent screen and image quality, although the support period provided is too short.

If you want to watch DVDs or SDTV the Sharp 32AF3X will do the job nicely.

The high definition capabilities of the DT3220 are top notch and the few problems we found in standard definition and PC modes aren’t bad enough to make this an unwise purchase

If you don't want to connect a PC and are after a full high definition 1080p screen, the Sharp LC42D63X may suit you nicely. It offers good image quality with just a few small problems and comes in a stylish body with a good range of connectivity options.

For the price point, the TEAC LCD3733A is a reasonable unit that offers good performance when viewing DVDs in SD while also delivering favorable results in HD too.
