The LG 50PB2DR, with integrated DVR, is an excellent Plasma panel capable of producing incredible HD images, but it falters slightly in SD and PC performance.

The Hitachi 32LD960DTA performed brilliantly in high definition and had only a handful of minor problems in standard definition.

The LG 42LC2DR is a good mid-range unit with an integrated HDTV tuner and DVR and only a handful of image quality problems when viewing HD content.

The Hitachi 50PD960DTA is a mid-range unit with excellent high definition performance, reasonable standard definition performance and poor performance when connected to a PC.

Despite a few minor problems, the Fujitsu Plasmavision P63XHA51AS performed beautifully in our HD and SD tests and even excelled when connected to a PC.

While the price is rather high, the Sharp LC52GD7X is easily the best 1080p television we have reviewed.

The LC37AW5X is a quite a good television but it is not up to the same standard as its predecessors. It performs well in both Standard and High Definition, but has some sharpening issues and poor connectivity support which stop it from scoring higher.

The Samsung PS50Q7HD delivers high-end image quality at a reasonable price. This is a great unit for High Definition and does a good job for Standard Definition.

Good looks, good audio and excellent connection options do not make up for the below average image quality, especially at this price point.

The 42PD960DTA is a good all round mid-range television but has its problems across all modes and is far from brilliant.

While the PDP-427XDA performs well in High Definition, the issues with SD and PC signals are a factor especially considering the price point.

For watching Blu-Ray, HD-DVD movies, or playing HD games consoles, the Samsung LA46F71BX performs quite well, although its DVD playback leaves a little to be desired.
