Sony's Bravia KDL-52X3100 is a fantastic high-definition television, capable of delivering some incredibly rich and stunning images. It does have one or two slight flaws, but its overall performance is excellent.

While $5999 isn't exactly a steal, the KDL52W3100 remains one of the best valued 52in LCD displays on the market.

Samsung's LA40N81BD offers a good choice for users looking to take the leap into high-definition video. While there were some minor aliasing and noise issues during gaming tests, high-definition playback was impressive on the whole, and standard definition was rendered crisply considering the amount of scaling required.

The Bravia KDL46D3100 showed excellent performance across all modes and resolutions including standard definition and will no doubt please most users. The only downfall is a oversaturation of red in the image but this may not by an important factor for the majority of consumers.

This is the best DLP rear projection we have reviewed thus far and we came away feeling very satisfied with both its performance and quality. Apart from the cool factor of owning a 62 inch TV, you should definitely consider this set, especially if you plan to view primarily HD content.

The MediaStar MD32AS is an exceptional LCD television and well worth consideration when looking to buy a TV set. They aren't a well known brand but this is surprisingly good nonetheless.

The Sanyo LCD-47XR2 sits at the low end of the market when it comes to price, but has the image quality and overall performance that makes it a viable budget alternative to some of the big boys.

While the image quality is high and the sound quality is good, the connectivity options on the 42PFL7532D, as well as the required calibration time, aren't user-friendly.

The Toshiba REGZA 47WL68A is a good all-round 1080p unit. It's not perfect and doesn't quite sit in the same league as the high-end units on the market, but at this price point, it represents excellent value for money.
