The A616 produced attractive prints with minor flaws and slow print speeds. If you're looking for colour accuracy and a speedy photo printer you might want to look elsewhere.

The Polaroid PoGo's appeal lies in its mobility and its near-instantaneous picture production. The price is steep for what amounts to a one-trick gimmick printer. But that doesn't detract from the silly fun people can have by printing pictures on the go. Teens and tweens, in particular, will love this feature; and casual users and business people (for example, real-estate agents who want to print pics of specific rooms for clients without delay) may appreciate PoGo's portability.

This simple, inexpensive, and compact home printer is adequate for everyday printing tasks, but its print quality could be better.

The Photosmart A526's minimal-options approach to printing photos will be a relief for some, a frustration for others. But it's the slow printing that dampens its value somewhat, even if the photos are worth the wait.

The Canon Selphy CP770 offers an excellent choice of connection and editing options and we couldn't fault it.

Though not a looker, lacking in versatility and slightly short on image quality, the Selphy CP510 is still worthy of your attention. That reasonable price and those brilliant running costs make this a good, cheap model.

If it's compatible with your camera, the PictureMate is a good choice for affordable, top-quality snapshots.

Kodak's Printer Dock 3 provides excellent quality photo prints at high speeds. However, this functionality proves to be expensive, with each print having a hefty cost.

While the initial outlay on the CAMEDIA P-10 is inexpensive, its running costs are higher than many Kodak and Canon printers and its print quality is not as good. However, it is a very neat unit, so if you're looking for something that won't take up to much space on your desk or bookshelf, then it could be right for you.

Although the PIXMA's initial price is low, ink costs are steep. Overall this is a well-designed printer with high print quality, although our speed tests show it to be a good deal slower than Canon claims.

Good quality prints from digital images in a PictBridge-compliant device. Ink and paper are not the cheapest however.
