The Altec Lansing iM510 is a very basic speaker system designed with an integrated dock for the Sandisk Sansa range of players. It has reasonable sound quality but not good enough to be considered great.

The iM7 is an excellent sounding unit that provides plenty of thumping bass, but at this price, there are a few factors which prevent it from ruling the roast.

The portability and durability of this product make it an attractive option if you are content with only ever owning an iPod mini or nano.

The iM310 is a fair travel solution, but don’t expect brilliant sound quality. At this price it's pretty decent value.

An average sounding system that distorts heavily at high volumes, the M602 will not satisfy listeners with a penchant for loud music.

The sound quality isn’t the greatest, but if you want a system to carry your music around then the included backpack and unique rubberised case may be of some interest.

The sound quality and high price tag make it hard to justify buying a portable speaker package like this solely for its design.

This is a well-designed speaker system that can also act as a dock. However, its sound quality doesn't match its sleek look. The lack of a remote control, hard to press buttons and poor sound quality at higher volume levels means users should give this a miss.

We just can’t recommend this speaker system. Look elsewhere, even at previous Altec Lansing models, because this one has missed the gun.
