The MSI GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB is one of the better mid-high performance cards available for its price and fills the gap between the current generation of high-end cards and the eagerly awaited series that's soon to come from NVIDIA. The increased clock speed may not make a huge difference, but it may just be enough for some.

At last ATI has made a comeback of noteworthy proportions with this new board. Our look at the Sapphire Radeon HD3870 X2 has left us impressed, even if we're a little concerned with the limitations of this hardware-doubling technique.

A reasonably competitive card with a great software bundle.

When judged on its own merits, the Gigabyte GeForce 9800 GTX (GV-NX98X512H-B) is a hard card to fault. However, the emergence of similarly priced dual-GPU cards has taken some of the shine off its performance.

A powerful AGP card to tide people over till the move to PCI Express becomes compulsory.

A card with decent performance and a very good software bundle.

Although this isn't the top of the range, its slightly lower performance is negligible, especially when weighted with the price drop. If you're looking for a card to last until you purchase a new system with everything you've ever dreamed of, this card is a great option.

While the basic 7900 GS has some good features, it's not quite strong enough to compete with the likes of the Sapphire X1950 Pro. Having said that, the 7900 GS is quick, good value, and has plenty of overclocking potential.

You can forget the old GTS models because this new card, based on the G92 GPU, is a far better choice, even if it has some limitations.

Although Zotac is a lesser known brand, the card's performance is on par with the competition. We tested and used the Zotac 8800GTS 320MB over a period of time and it remained stable and performed well. We were also impressed with the environmentally conscious packaging.
