AAD’s M Series surround sound home theatre offers great sound quality for movies at an affordable price. The speakers are quite light and easy to set up, although their styling is more conservative than impressive.

The PT8051 is an impressive integrated unit. It handles movie audio well, despite not having a subwoofer and relying on flat-panel speaker technology. It's also easy to set up and can decode digital signals from DVD and Blu-ray players.

Whilst the sound quality might be above average with no real component or HDMI connections and a price tag that rivals the economy of New Zealand we cannot in good faith recommend this unit. There are better sounding, more fully featured packages for one third of the price.

There are more powerful and much cheaper systems on the market, but if your lifestyle demands an unobtrusive system that delivers high-quality audio and video, the Lifestyle 48 is a good option.

We cannot in good faith recommend this system to anyone. Even if the sound quality was exquisite, a similar level can be achieved at a much lower price and in full surround.

B&W’s VM6 speakers are surprisingly capable speakers for music and movies, but their thin size impacts upon their performance.

As a 2.1 system the S-101 performs well, but the virtual 5.1 capability is not as good as having more speakers.

Denon's Hurricane is a good choice for anyone looking to establish a serious home theatre. The sound quality is fantastic and the array of connections ensures it won't be obsolete any time soon.

If you can put up with the terrible remote and a slightly longer than normal setup, the HS 500 is a great home theatre system. Its price means it won't be within everybody's budget, but those after high quality audio will not be disappointed with this product.

The HKTS 11 is a truly fantastic set of speakers. The quality of the audio is exceptional, and for those that can afford it, it's well worth checking out.

Users putting together a high-end home entertainment system should definitely check out these speakers. They produce clear sound and a heck of a lot of bass.
