The Treo 500v aims to appeal to a broad audience thanks to its user-friendly menu system, a sleek design and a range of multimedia features. It's not perfect, but is definitely a welcomed entry into the market.

As a PDA, the i-mate Ultimate 8150 is a reasonable choice. As business tool it's quite a feature-packed device with some additional functionality provided by i-mate's I-Q feature.

This model is essentially the same as the Xphone II, with only a few improvements.

A solid, if not outstanding entry to the smart phone market, the BlackJack is a mixed bag. It has HSDPA, an excellent display and good email functionality, but the inability to edit documents and the lack of Wi-Fi are sour points.

The P910i is a significant upgrade in display quality and memory storage from its predecessor, but the lack of Wi-Fi support and its expensive price tag count against it.

If you're after a phone first and mobile email second, the 7100g is the BlackBerry for you.

If you're looking for mobile email access, the BlackBerry 7290 is a great solution. It's bulky for a phone, but the keyboard is ideal for entering screeds of text.

Ideal for mobile professionals who require constant email access, the 8707v adds 3G capabilities to an already impressive unit.

The SureType keyboard maybe initially cause some frustration, but once you get used to it, this is another excellent BlackBerry unit. A smaller size and a far more pleasing design should make the 7130g appeal to an even wider audience than usual.
