As a basic, entry-level GPS unit at this price, the F20 does quite a fine job. It doesn't include speed or red light camera warnings and is thin on included accessories, but an easy to grasp interface and solid maps provide a pleasing navigational experience - even for first time GPS users.

A massive improvement over earlier MIO models, the C510 includes good maps, clear voice instructions and added features like Bluetooth hands free.

If you are after a compact and simple GPS system, then the nuvi 300 should fit the bill. Overall, a solid navigational experience on the whole is enough to cover for some small deficiencies.

The ONE has received a facelift and although the improvements are largely focused around the aesthetics, this is still one of the best value for money GPS units on the market.

This is by far and away the best GPS unit on the market. It combines an excellent design with a fantastically easy to use menu system and features a whole range of extra offerings such as Bluetooth hands free, MP3 player and excellent text-to-speech technology. A must have.

The EVO is a welcome driving companion and, although not perfect, works well for providing early warning of safety hazards.

The iCN 720 is a solid GPS unit that works well and includes a digital camera, navigation using photos, 4-inch touch screen, remote control and easy to navigate interface.

While Tom Tom does get credit for trying with the Rider, there are some key flaws with this GPS solution that have to be overcome.

At this price, and with this feature set, the TomTom ONE blows away the competition.

If you're on the lookout for a smaller and simple to use GPS, the Streetpilot i3 would be ideal. More advanced users will be frustrated by the limited control set and slow calculation speeds.
