We can’t recommend these headphones. The sound quality is below average, they lack bass and they’re uncomfortable. A disappointing effort.

As a cheap way to increase the quality of your audio setup, the AT-HA20 is a reasonable alternative. However we would recommend saving your money and investing in a better amplifier later on, as the difference it will make and the scope for upgrading will be vastly increased.

If you have the money to spend and audio quality is important to you, The Quiet Comfort 2 are the best noise cancelling headphones we have seen and are well worth their price tag.

The Philips SBC-HN110 headphones are too lightweight and their noise attenuation of just 10dB is not enough to really deal with unwanted sounds.

The Philips HC200 are a very average set of headphones that performed poorly and should be avoided.

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced set of headphones that are unique and deliver excellent sound, the Philips Extra Comfort are highly recommended.

The HS520 look good, but that’s about as far as it gets. Even though they aren’t overly expensive, you can get a far superior product for little more than what these are worth.

On par or better than the top of the line Sennheisers, but at a lower price, the BeyerDynamic DT880s are one of the best amplified headphones you can buy, short of spending $1000 or more.

A headphone that will be a big improvement over most of your cheaper models, but one that is outclassed by many other models in this price range.

Offering a solid alternative to the Audio Technica A900s, the HD595s present a warm, slightly dark sound that will please many listeners.
