The Asus W5Fe has an interesting design and some cool features. The SideShow is not a hugely useful tool, but it's definitely fun and may become a more worthwhile feature as more gadgets are developed. If you're after a notebook with a good mix of features and great battery life then you'll like the W5Fe.

Overall, the Lamborghini VX2 is solidly constructed and has good features and speed for everyday tasks, and some gaming. The Lamborghini styling is a real head-turner and, ultimately, it's what you're paying for.

Despite its short battery life, the Znote 6214W is a decent choice for any type of user. It's portable enough to take on the road, yet its screen-size and features make it suitable for use as a desktop computer. Similarly, the notebook's 7600GT graphics chip makes it a suitable machine for playing games, as well as a more-than-decent machine for productivity applications and photo editing.

It may not be a powerful performer but it does the basics.

HP's Pavilion tx1001 is not a powerful performer, but for a small premium you get the benefit of touch-screen functionality with your notebook. It still offers all the perks of the Pavilion range, but brings a new physical element to computing.

The Toshiba Satellite range has always been a winner and the A200 is no exception. Its inclusion of the new Wi-Fi n standard is a nice addition, especially since it's not a Santa Rosa notebook.

The Sony VAIO VGN-FE45G/W doesn't offer great battery life, but is very comfortable to use and has enough power under the hood to deal with everyday use and more.

Although the Acer Aspire 5613AWLMi has no definitively outstanding feature worth mentioning, the combination of its media controls, shortcuts, Acer Empowering Technology software, price and performance-results make it a nice machine to own.

The attractive Sony Vaio VGN-C25G/B can comfortably handle general computing tasks and multimedia applications. However, if you are looking to play modern games, you should look elsewhere.

This business machine offers all that a business user on the road could ask for, and will happy replace a desktop PC at the office. The Centrino Pro and Santa Rosa features give it an advantage over older models and it performed well in our battery tests.
